ROLL WITH RESPECT…

THINK MUCH OF YOURSELF

My name is Brandon Miller, I’m a proud Philly native, and was raised between Philly and Atlanta. I grew up enjoying nature, science, and travel. I’m a proud graduate of Dillard University of Louisiana, and Clark Atlanta University.  I’ve always enjoyed learning about different cultures, and some of those experiences required strong demonstrations of respect for something different and new.  But it was effortless, as I’ve always valued respect, and continuously worked to demonstrate it to others, but most importantly for myself.

I am blessed to have participated in various enrichment programs and civic engagement activities that helped strengthen my sense of self-respect. Some of my most rewarding experiences include participating in political campaigns, environmental initiatives, social justice forums, 8th grade summer camp at Emory Medical School, and spending a month of the summer between high school and college in Botswana. After college, I participated in an exciting internship at the National Technology Transfer Center at Wheeling Jesuit University and was recognized by the U.S. Department of Commerce as an Emerging Minority Business Leader.

My civic engagement experience prepared me for a career in public transportation planning, where I enjoy working with community stakeholders to improve transit access and services. Throughout my career, I’ve enjoyed mentoring and visiting middle and high school students to discuss career opportunities within transportation.

My passion for community vitality has evolved into Roll With Respect... Think Much of Yourself...

Roll With Respect’s (RWR) mission is to build safer and stronger communities through self-respect. We pursue our mission to see empowered youth, equipped to fulfill their potential, and successfully navigate life’s challenges. Everything we do is to support youth transcendence above trauma, distractions, and environmental stressors. As founder, RWR is a very personal mission. In 2019, I lost a best friend to suicide, after supporting my friend in coping with trauma, and mental health challenges for 22 years.

RWR’s programming provides a toolkit to help young people see beyond their current circumstances, realize their worth, and prepare for their futures. RWR provides context to environmental influences and stressors, and the negative impacts they can have on overall well-being. RWR aims to benefit youth and the broader community by promoting creativity and critical thinking, and supporting the healthy development of emotional, mental, social, and spiritual health.
